Progress Energy or Teco will pay you to install a new air conditioning system in your home.  

How high is your electric bill this summer? Replace that old and tired air conditioner with a new high efficient heat pump air conditioning system and receive the following:

Progress Energy–will credit your power bill upon completion of rebate requirements

If you are replacing a resistance heat (strip heat):

  • Install a heat pump with minimum 14 SEER and 7.8 HSPF – $250 credit
  • Install a heat pump with minimum 15 SEER and 8.0 HSPF – $350 credit

 If you are replacing an older, less-efficient heat pump:

  • Install a heat pump with minimum 14 SEER and 7.8 HSPF – $100 credit
  • Install a heat pump with minimum 15 SEER and 8.0 HSPF – $150 credit

 For customers installing a new air conditioner with non-electric heat:

  • Install an air conditioning unit with minimum 14 SEER – $50 credit

 

Teco–instant rebate upon installation

If you are replacing a resistance heat (strip heat):

  • Straight cool to heat pump change out/15 seer and above–$400 instant rebate

If you are replacing an older, less-efficient heat pump:

  • Heat pump to heat pump change out/-$275 instant rebate upon installation
